Identify the exact mismatch
Start by describing what disagrees. The thumbnail may show a different colour, a size chart may use another product name, or the selected option may include fewer pieces than the gallery. A precise description makes the next check easier.
Return to the saved URL and identify the exact variant you intended to compare. If the current destination has changed, preserve that fact rather than assuming that a similar-looking item is an equivalent replacement.
Check the four parts of the listing together
A match requires more than a familiar hero image. Compare the selected option, price, chart and the evidence attached to that option. Keep your reference photograph beside your notes while checking the current page.
| Part | What to compare | If unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Title, saved URL and item identifier where supplied | Ask whether the listing still describes the intended product |
| Selected option | Colour, size, quantity and included pieces | Do not rely on the gallery’s default option |
| Measurement chart | Model, units and method | Request the chart for the exact selection |
| Photo references | Variant and visible details | Ask which photographs document that option |
Use the correct price after changing an option
Switching a colour or size can also change the price. Update the selected-variant amount and check whether the item still meets your budget. Do not keep the original starting amount as though it applied to the new option.
The same principle applies to sets and accessories. A product gallery showing several pieces does not establish that every option includes them.
Ask for the missing evidence instead of filling the gap
For clothing, request the useful measurement and its endpoints. For bags, request the opening or internal compartment. For footwear, ask what the chart’s centimetre column represents. The required evidence follows the question, rather than the category’s photo count.
A reply that describes another option can still leave your question unanswered. Keep that distinction visible and avoid presenting the candidate as checked until the necessary detail matches.
Keep, pause or remove the candidate
Keep a candidate when the matching information answers your requirement. Pause it when a necessary detail remains unknown. Remove it when the confirmed option fails the requirement. These decisions keep the shortlist useful without requiring a guess.
If you already placed an order, use the current tools and terms of the seller or service handling it. This directory cannot inspect an account, change an order or promise a return outcome.
Use the step-by-step checklist
